The Lord instructed the Israelites to consecrate the firstborns "of man and beasts for it belongs to me."Joseph had asked that they vow to take his bones with them when they journeyed to the promise lands so his bones were with them. They were led by cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night as they headed to the red sea on their journey to the their first passover celebration.
