Abram and his nephew were traveling together and had much wealth between the two of them. The herdsmen of both began to quarrel and realizing that this may cause a rift between the two of them Abram said let us separate. If you want to go to the left, I will go to the right, if you want to go to the right, I will go to the left. Lot saw how well watered and lush the vegetation was in the plains of Jordan so he made his journey in that direction and Abram stayed in Canaan. Lot ended up settling in the sinful city of Sodom. Abram was visited by God and told that he would own all the property which he could see. He offered an offering and praised God's name.
