Abraham received three visitors as he sat outside his tent one hot day. He made a great deal of fuss over them asking Sara to prepare food for them and he picked a tender choice steer to have it prepared for them. Sara overheard them foretelling of her giving birth within the year and she laughed knowing that she had already passed menopause. Then the Lord queried Abraham asking him if there was anything too marvelous for God to do?
Later in the same chapter God told Abraham of His plan to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for their sinful and wicked ways. Abraham plead for their lives until God told him if ten righteous men could be found in all of Sodom and Gomorrah He would spare their lives.
