Noah, his wife, their three sons and their wives along with a male and female of each animal species were sealed in the ark by God and then the rain began. It continued for 40 days and 40 nights.
In the previous chapter the Bible advised of how God commanded him to build the ark and the provisions he was to take with him. It had three decks and pitch throughout, but I wondered if his sons helped him to build it as it had to be quite large and time consuming to build.
It surprised me that they entered the ark when Noah was 600 hundred years old and the waters burst forth when he was 600 years, two months and seventeen days old. No more making excuses that we are too old to do God's bidding. :-)
