I deliberately made this photo look less clear. I think sometimes we do this to God's word. Instead of trying to understand exactly what God has for us we choose to make the picture less clear than what God intends. Abram never did that. He took God at His word, literally.
In this chapter Abram is told his name will now be Abraham and his seed will be multiplied, Sarai's name is changed to Sarah. God promises to bless them with children, many children, and not just children but great nations. He also commanded that baby boys be circumcised at the age of 8 days old. Abraham, aged 99 and his son, Ismael, aged 13 were then circumcised along with all the males of the households.
