Genesis 12 ~ Abraham is sent away

The Lord advised Abram to leave his father's home and travel to a land He would show him. He took with him his wife, Sarai who was also his half sister, being the daughter of his father Terah. As they travelled there was a great famine so they needed to stay in Egypt for awhile.

Afraid that the Egyptians would kill him so that they could take Sarai as their own wife because she was exceedingly beautiful, he asked her to tell them that (he) Abram was her brother so he would be spared. Pharoah wanted to take Sarai as his own wife but to protect her the Lord struck the household with plagues. The Pharoah summoned Abram and questioned him. When Abram confessed, Sarai and Abram were sent packing along with all the gifts that had been bestowed upon Sarai.

Thank you for visiting me today. May God richly bless you and the reading of His word.
