So far, the obedience of Abraham has really been remarkable. How long did he wait for this son from wife? He is more than 100 years old. His son is but a boy and God commanded him to take his son to the land of Moriah. He took with him two servants but left them a ways back as he and his son went on alone. His son asked him where the offering was and he told Isaac, God will provide. He actually tied him up, placed him on the altar and lifted his hand high above his son with the knife when God interceded telling him not to harm his son as God no longer questioned his loyalty and devotion. He provided him with a ran in the thicket which Isaac and Abraham then used to prepare for sacrifice.
